Welcome Adult Learning Opportunities for Badgerland Council
In order to ensure that volunteers gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully deliver a meaningful and safe Girl Scout experience, various training courses are offered throughout the year. All courses are designed to enhance and develop your knowledge, skills, abilities, and enthusiasm for Girl Scouting. Please contact your Membership Specialist-Retention for local leader meetings and enrichment trainings held in your area.
GIRL SCOUTING 101
What: This 45-minute Girl Scouts of the USA online session provides an overview of Girl Scouting today. It includes the fundamentals of Girl Scouting – the Promise and Law, Girl Scout Mission and history, an introduction to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting and the Journeys program. Complete this session at your convenience prior to viewing the Badgerland Volunteer Training. Please call your local service center if you do not have Internet access.
Who: Required for new volunteers and highly recommended for returning volunteers

BADGERLAND VOLUNTEER TRAINING (BVT)
What: This course is specific to Badgerland Council and covers topics ranging from girl safety to how to help your Girl Scouts earn their first badge. You’ll walk away from BVT with many resources available to you through Badgerland Council as well as tips to ensure a successful Girl Scout year.
Who: Required for new leaders and co-leaders before attending Daisy or Brownie New Leader Training

DAISY NEW LEADER TRAINING (grades k-1)
BROWNIE NEW LEADER TRAINING (grades 2-3)
What: This in-person training will provide you with everything you need to know to run a new troop! You’ll receive the resources and program books needed to get a troop started. Here you will also connect with other brand new troop leaders and form your own support network.
Troop in a Bag! At the new leader training. New Daisy and Brownie leaders will take home their own Troop in a Bag. These loaner bags contain everything you need to run your troop and create a quality leadership experience for your Girl Scouts. Each Troop in a Bag contains the National Program Portfolio including all three Journeys (girl books and adult guides) and the Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting to use throughout their time as a Daisy or Brownie leader. One set of books per troop are on loan at no cost to the leaders. At least one new leader, per troop, must attend the Daisy or Brownie training to receive the Troop in a Bag.

Pre-Reqs: must take GS101 and BVT before attending this course
ARE YOU A SECOND YEAR DAISY OR BROWNIE LEADER?
Second year leaders will benefit from attending the new leader training too. Come get a refresher, hear what’s new this year and network with other leaders.
