Find Out What You Missed...

Thank you to all the volunteers that attended one of the 2012 Spring Meetings! If you missed the meeting and are in need of a re-registration packet, please contact your membership specialist. There are new forms and procedures and a change in the Girl Membership Dues. We want to be sure you are using the current forms.

Here’s Your Chance to Compete in the Kon-Tiki Regatta!
 
Twenty years ago a group of high school girls created a water-based weekend event that they hoped would keep girls excited about scouting into middle and high school. And in 1992, the first Kon-Tiki Regatta was born!  Since then, over a thousand girls have attended the Regatta making countless friends and memories. Now it's your turn! You can be part of the fun - and history - at the 20th Annual Kon-Tiki Regatta May 18-20, 2012!  Click here to register.

CBH Work & Fun Weekend

May 11, 6:30pm to May 13, 11:00am, 2012

All ages welcome; FREE

It is time again to start getting Camp Black Hawk ready for another season!  Join us for our Work & Fun Weekend at Camp Black Hawk!!  Projects may include getting the barn ready for horses, cleaning units, putting up tents, setting up the lodge, prepping program areas, and general camp cleaning.

Camp Ehawee Spring Troop Camp

May 185pm to May 20, 9am, 2012

Grade(s): K-12; $75/person Adults to meet ratios attend FREE!

Troop Camp offers troops an exciting adventure full of great outdoor experiences! Camp staff assists the troop adults by providing core activities including art, nature, hiking, creek hopping, field games, canoeing, archery, campfires and a dance! Troop camp allows the troop to take full advantage of all that Camp Ehawee has to offer!

Important Program Notes: Be sure to pack and dress for Wisconsin weather. All meals are included! Feel free to bring your own snacks. Troop Leaders must plan for 4 hours of troop time activity. We suggest you take that time to work on badges or journeys! Your troop will also get a chance to shop in the trading post at camp!

Camp Ehawee Work Weekend

May 26, 11am to May 27, 11am, 2012

Grade(s): K-12; Free!!!

Come and help us prepare camp for the season! You will help stock the unit houses with supplies; do trail work; dust off the winter in all of the facilities; creek clean-up and clean-up the canoe area!

Important Program Notes: Be sure to pack and dress for Wisconsin weather.  Bring your own lunch May 26th and picnic at camp; dinner on May 26 and breakfast May 27 are provided.  Feel free to bring your own snacks. You will also get a chance to shop in the trading post at camp!

Bring your ideas and gather materials to help create the characters, the set, and the script as you put on a musical production for camp. Practice your lines in front of friends while participating in all the other activities camp has to offer!  Grades: 5-12

Aaaaaarrrrrrr ye ready to plunder and pillage your way through Camp Ehawee? Build ye very own pirate ship, hunt for the buried treasure and battle any who dare near ye cabin! Grades: 1-8

*NEW* Voyagers Canoe the waterways around Camp Ehawee! You will canoe the Black River and spend the night on a sandbar, canoe Lake Neshonoc and camp on the shore and canoe the Trempealeau River through a Wisconsin State park! Grades: 7-12

Camp Black Hawk Celebrates Its 56th Birthday!

August 10, 3:30pm to August 12, 11:00am, 2012

Everyone is welcome!

Come spend the weekend celebrating the 56th Birthday of Camp Black Hawk.  This will be a time to reconnect with old camp friends, meet new camp friends, and celebrate camp’s 56 years of history.  Everyone and anyone is welcome to come celebrate with us.  Those under the age of 18 are welcome to attend, but must have an adult attending with them.

Volunteer Training Opportunities

Badgerland Volunteer Training

The new Badgerland Volunteer Training (BVT) is specific to Badgerland Council, and is required for all new volunteers and will provide seasoned volunteers with updated information based on the new Program Portfolio.  Participate in a live online webinar and have your questions answered during the webinar.  All you need is an internet connection and speakers.  Dates are added on a monthly basis.

Once registered you will receive an email confirming your registration with information you need to join the Webinar.  You do not need a microphone to participate, just an internet connection and speakers or a phone line. 


Troop Overnight Certification 
If you would like to take your troop on an overnight, this is the training for you!
   Have fun learning first-hand what you need to know to take girls on an overnight to a property with indoor facilities, including plumbing and electricity (TOC1) and properties without indoor facilities (TOC 2).  The course will cover Badgerland Council properties, planning, and tips for making an overnight with your troop a success.  Confirmation will be sent upon registration.  Directions and details will be sent the week prior to the course.  The following TOC trainings will be with Jane and Karen Breun.  Jane is an experienced facilitator and both are wonderful resources for all things outdoors!  Meals provided. 

Cost is $10.
