The Wisconsin State Capitol Goes Green!  Join Girl Scouts of Wisconsin – Badgerland Council and thousands of your Girl Scout friends, supporters, family, and alumnae to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the founding of Girl Scouts of the USA!  The day will kick-off with a gathering at Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center to get energized before we follow the trail of a “Century of Leaders” to the Wisconsin State Capitol Square in Madison.   We begin our march to the State Capitol Building in “1912” and follow Girl Scout and Women’s History stations, ultimately gathering on the Capitol Lawn to celebrate our future with speakers and large group activities as we reach the year 2012!  We are 100 years young and the best is yet to come!  Participants will walk or be bussed back to Alliant Energy Center following our recognitions and celebration at the Capitol.

Registered Girl Scouts and registered Girl Scout Adults are then invited to join together back at the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall to continue the celebration with an overnight 100th Anniversary Camp-In!  Doors open at 7:00 PM and we will have activity booths and group activities starting at 7:30 PM and running until midnight.  A late night snack will be provided at 11:00 PM.  Movies will start running at midnight until approximately 3:30 AM.  Side rooms will be provided for younger Girl Scouts who tire after the long day and are ready for a good night’s rest.  A quiet relaxation room for adults will also be provided.  As of 11:00 PM, this will become a quiet sleeping space for adults who will be driving the following day.  Participants will rise and shine for a provided continental breakfast from 7:00 AM-8:00 AM.  We will have a large group closing ceremony beginning at 8:15 AM with dismissal from the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall at 8:45 AM.

Registration for both events opens January 9, 2012.  Register through E-biz or with the paper registration form that will be posted on the 100th Anniversary web site in the beginning of January.  If you are a member of GSNWGL or GSWISE please register through your home council.

For more information about this event:  e-mail 100@gsbadgerland.org or contact Eliza Zimmerman, GSWIBC Program Specialist at 800.236.8500 X 3030.

Important Notes:  Registration for the 100th Anniversary Camp-In is limited!

  • • Due to the limited space, we are asking troops and groups to limit their adult registrations for the Camp-In to meet Safety Activity Checkpoint ratios plus two additional adults.  This allows for adults to take breaks throughout the evening and still have the necessary supervision for girls who are attending.
  • If an individually registered girl is attending the Camp-In, she is permitted just one registered adult to supervise her.
  • The Camp-In can only be purchased as a package with admission for the earlier Century Celebration and “Century of Leaders” March event.
  • Dinner is not provided between the two activities.  Watch our web site for special dinner offers from local merchants as the event approaches.
  • Special discounted hotel rooms are also available in the area.  Please see our 100th Anniversary web site for more information as it released.
